with special guests Elvis Perkins, Matthew Gray Gubler
This Filthy World Goes Hollywood
Wed, Feb 23, 2011 at 8:00 PM
Royce Hall
$28/38/48 ($15 UCLA students)

As a screenwriter, director, artist, actor, and all-around filth elder, John Waters has become a rotten renaissance man of unprecedented cultural influence. Not only was his movie Hairspray turned into a wildly successful Tony Awardwinning musical, his recently published memoir, Role Models, has been called “alarmingly refined.” Waters’ one-man vaudeville act, This Filthy World Goes Hollywood sends up show business, the art world, and his own lunatic career in a rapid-fire performance. Dynamic modern-rock recording artist Elvis Perkins opens the show with a solo set, and actor Matthew Gray Gubler hosts as the evening’s emcee.

Pallers "Arctic hymn" (free Christmas single)
PALLERS
"While working on our debut-album we decided to celebrate you all by recording this winter greeting.
This is to say "We think about you, we will meet again, sometime after the snow is gone and the days are longer!" But for now we´d like to share with you this Christmas song, this warm caress with a promise, this Arctic Hymn.
Download MP3 here! Happy Holidays/Pallers

Pallers continue their exploration of dreamy, cosmic sounds on the boundaries between ambient, pop and choirboy grime. The duo released their debut EP "Humdrum" in the winter of 2008/2009 which immediately became a big success on blogs world wide (#1 on Elbo.ws). In May this year they released a second underground hit-single called "The Kiss" which Pitchfork described as "...a glistening, thumping body-mover."
The debut album will be out in the summer of 2011.
Merry Christmas!
