Looks like Taylor Momsen will have a lot more time to focus on her music career. The actress/singer won't be returning to "Gossip Girl" next season. And if she's looking for someone else to join The Pretty Reckless, Jessica Szohr is also looking for work. She too won't be back for The CW drama's fifth season.

TV Line reports that the ladies will no longer be series regulars, but have been invited back as guest stars (which sounds pretty vague to us). So who did make the cut? Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford will all be back for more drama. And, it seems that Taylor and Jessica's loss is Kaylee DeFer's gain. She's been promoted to series regular.

When Hollywood Crush spoke to Taylor a month ago, she alluded to the fact that she wasn't even sure if she would reprise her star-making turn as Little Jenny. "We don’t even know if we're picked up for the next season," she said. "So don’t plan on seeing Jenny anytime soon, but in the future who knows?
"What I will say," she continued. "The show is being very, very supportive of the band, and you physically can't do both at the same time. I can't be on set and then in France touring or wherever. So they're writing me out of story lines and allowing me to tour, and I really have to thank them for that, so you won't see me for a while."

According to Michael Ausiello’s sources, they’re out like last season’s Chanel designs, as Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr will not be brought back as regulars to the CW show. But are they going to be banished from the show entirely?
Not just yet. The sources say that the two will be considered guest stars on the show, which in TV series lingo generally means appearances of 5 or less episodes.
Momsen’s future on the hit show has been up in the air for quite some time, with many speculating her days were over thanks to her emerging music career. Momsen has said in several interviews that music is her main priority in the future, as it allows her to really express her artistic side.
